What to expect: Six Victorian terraced houses were joined together to create this hotel's long façade, with its columned porches and prize-winning baskets of flowers. The colorful quiet lobby has a baby grand piano and chandelier. The hotel is popular with a mix of families, independent travelers and businesspeople, especially those working at or visiting the nearby Earl's Court Exhibition Centre.
Amenity highlights: The bar and dining area were recently refurbished with antique features that include 400-year-old beams from a ship, church pews made into bar seats and tables and a stained-glass window on the ceiling. The front lobby doubles as a lounge area, with Internet access (fee) and an information kiosk with leaflets about shows and other tourist attractions.
Insider tip: A five-minute walk from the hotel away is the Brompton Cemetery, one of the largest cemeteries in London. Nineteenth century colonnades line its central walkway, and its carved stone statues and ornate decoration are famous. It was a favorite haunt of Beatrix Potter, the creator of Peter Rabbit, who chose the names of some of her characters from those inscribed on the gravestones. Open daily, dawn until dusk.

Bathrooms are white-tiled and compact.
DINING :
The Barn Restaurant - This dining room has antique features including beams taken from a 400-year-old ship and artifacts rescued from a converted church. Only the tables and chairs are contemporary. Continental and full English breakfasts are available, while a range of a la carte dishes, including fish and chips, hamburgers and pizzas are on offer for lunch or dinner.
The Barn Bar - Linked to the Barn Restaurant by an open doorway, the Barn Bar is a long room with a full equipped bar along the narrow wall. The seats and tables are made out of converted church pews; plates, brass artifacts and an original cartwheel decorate the walls. There are two televisions.
